There are a lot of crazy conspiracy theories going around the country right now, but one of the craziest is “Wyoming doesn't exist”.
Most people who use this term are just having fun. After all, not only can the average elementary school student point to the Cowboy State on a map, but most can spell it correctly and tell you the state capital.
Nevertheless, that doesn't stop “Wyoming Doesn't Exist” from trending almost every day.
In fact, Urban Dictionary's online entry for Wyoming literally says:
Wyoming is probably a state. Wyoming doesn't actually exist, it's a space-time distortion that only appears to exist. Anyone you've ever met who thinks they've been to Wyoming or who thinks they've lived in Wyoming has been implanted with false memories by the U.S. government. This is because no explanation can be given, and if the people knew the truth, it would cause a huge panic. When he tries to drive to Wyoming, he ends up waking up in Canada, naked and with no memory. (This is how Canada gets new citizens).
But the conspiracy goes much deeper than that.
Remember how I said earlier that most people just use this term in a humorous way? Well, that's true, but some online trolls are saying that all Wyoming people are lying. I feel like there are still quite a few people who believe.
Check out some (semi-) recent tweets from social media website X (officially known as Twitter) from people who still believe Wyoming doesn't exist.
Let social media win, I say. That way, when the zombie apocalypse arrives, do When that finally happens, we won't have a ton of visitors trying to invade our way of life.
