WORTHINGTON — The Globe's 14th annual Women's Expo Health & Lifestyle Show, held this Saturday at the Health and Wellness Center on Minnesota West's campus, will feature more than 40 interactive vendors, information-packed seminars, make-and-take classes, and wine tastings. Worthington Community & Technical College.
The event will feature three two-hour sessions from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with free admission and child care available through the Worthington Area YMCA.
Admission will be free this year, so we look forward to seeing more visitors. All ages are welcome.

“The Globe is excited to bring this event back to our community,” said publisher Joni Harms. “We continue to have three title sponsors who have been with us since day one. We feel this event will bring excitement, new ideas, and opportunities to shop and learn through both the seminars and exhibitors.”
Title sponsors are Minnesota West, Avera and Sanford, each of which will have a booth at the expo. The university will focus on some of its programs including nursing, occupational therapy, and cosmetology. Meanwhile, Sanford will sponsor two health-related seminars, Abella will host a duck pond for children, non-fasting blood sugar testing for all interested, and will once again sponsor a wine tasting. .
Participants will be entered into a drawing for great prizes including a $2,400 diamond necklace from Johnson Jewelry, a $400 gift basket from Daily Apple, a $250 gift card from The Stag, and a 3-month family membership to The Stag. There is an opportunity to. Worthington Area YMCA.
“Everyone will want to stop by the Globe booth to register for the door prize,” Harms said. “Admission is free this year, so we hope to see even more participants. All ages are welcome.”
“We have three new clothing boutiques: spray tan, Botox, ear piercing, and permanent jewelry,” Anna Rogers, Globe's advertising director, said of some of the vendors exhibiting this year. A photo booth will also be set up, and the Worthington High School girls golf team will provide food as a fundraiser. Bread rolls and coffee are available for purchase in the morning, and lunch includes hot dogs, chips, cookies, bars, and lunch drinks.
Seminars are scheduled during the event, sponsored by Sanford, and Dr. Benen Biermann will speak on “Foot Care” at 9:30 a.m.
Dr. Heather River, also sponsored by Sanford, will speak “Menopause: Physical Changes and Treatments” at 10 a.m.
Abella will be hosting a Diamond Painting Make and Take class at 10:45 a.m., and Daily Apple will be hosting a “Spring to Great Health” with a Custom Rollerball Make and Take class at noon. Both make-and-take classes are limited to 40 participants.
For those who wish to bring their children to the Expo, The Grove is working with the YMCA to provide childcare services. Rogers said people are encouraged to pre-register by calling 376-6197 or stopping by the Y's front desk. If there are still spaces available by Saturday, it will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Childcare time slots are 9am to 11am, 11am to 1pm, and 1pm to 3pm, and the cost is $4 per child for a 2 hour slot.
“Invite your friends and plan a day out,” Harms says. “Enjoy meeting different exhibitors and get the chance to learn. There will also be lots of new seminars and new vendors.”
The wine tasting, hosted by Avella, will begin at 1:30 p.m., and the grand prize drawing will take place at 2 p.m.
