3-star CB Jamari DeLoach of 757 powerhouse Oscar Smith High School was one of Virginia Tech's most notable visitors this past weekend. The standout 757 cornerback told us he was impressed with his visit to Blacksburg.
“It was amazing. I enjoyed every moment,” DeLoach said during his visit to Vermont.
He added about why his visit to Virginia Tech was so great.
“I got to spend time with the coaches and get to know the culture and the place,” DeLoach said.
Here's what he said about what he did during his visit to Virginia Tech:
“We went on a campus tour, took pictures, had a position meeting, ate food, met the coaches, and had a great time!” DeLoach said.
His visit included time with WR coach Fontel Mines and safeties coach Pearson Prioleault, one of VT's 757 key area recruiters. He says of his days at Fontel Mines:
“I loved the time I spent with him. He's a great, energetic coach and fun to be around,” DeLoach said.
He says of his time and conversations with Pearson Priolelot:
“It was great! I got to know him and see how he and Coach Cheetah interact.” [Derek Jones] Run the secondary,” DeLoach said.
Tech had plenty of momentum heading into this visit, as DeLoach previously said the Hokies were one of three Power 4 programs currently in the spotlight.
So how did this visit impact his recruiting efforts, and where do the Hokies stand in that?
“This had a huge impact on my recruiting efforts and finally allowed me to visit Virginia Tech,” DeLoach said. “Virginia Tech is now high on my recruiting list because I got to see the place and learn more about it.”
He added why Virginia Tech ranks high in recruiting.
“It's a great place to be. I like the way they run their program and the fact that they're primarily a man coverage-based defensive team,” DeLoach said.
Virginia Tech remains the top choice for 757 CB Jamari DeLoach, especially after impressing in last weekend's visit to Blacksburg.
