To commemorate National Physicians Day and recognize the extraordinary contributions of physicians to their communities, UVA Health donated $10,000 to the Culpeper Free Clinic.
“Our dedicated team of physicians has always demonstrated a deep commitment to serving patients in Culpeper and beyond,” said UVA Community Health Chief Operating Officer and UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center. said Donna Staton, Chief Operating Officer. “This donation is a sign of our appreciation as an organization for their tireless efforts.”
As part of the nonprofit Culpeper Wellness Foundation, the Culpeper Free Clinic provides essential medical services to uninsured individuals and those who cannot afford medical care. In addition to treatment, the clinic works with local partners to provide patients with other important services such as counseling, mobility assistance, literacy training, employment assistance, and nutritional counseling. The clinic's dedicated staff is supported by a team of community volunteers, including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and administrative staff.
Located on the campus of UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center, the free clinic benefits from collaboration with UVA Health, including providing laboratory work, imaging services and specialized care to patients in need.
