Wednesday's event is HCAP's annual galley lecture, honoring the memory and accomplishments of Metro Health's former director, Dr. Fernando A. Guerra, a prominent leader in public health and medicine, worked diligently to improve public health systems and help people across the country. The theme of this year's lecture is “Public Health Journeys: Empowering Communities and Transforming Lives.”
The Guerra lecture is one of several events being held at UTSA as part of National Public Health Week, which runs from Monday, April 1 to Sunday, April 7. Each year, UTSA uses this week to plan a series of educational events. , provides information to students and assists them in finding health-related careers.
Teresa de la Haya (Ret.), senior vice president of community health/clinical presentation programs at the University Health System, will moderate the panel discussion.
The panel will feature: brian castrucci, President and CEO of the de Beaumont Foundation. Dr. Lissa Ochoavascular surgeon and founder of the San Antonio Vascular Endovascular Clinic, phil beckettCEO of C3HIE.
