(KTLA) – The CEO of an Illinois-based technology company died in a freak accident last week, and the horrifying incident was captured on video.
Sanjay Shah, 56, CEO of revenue management services company Vistex, was celebrating the company's 25th anniversary.th An elaborate stage performance will take place on Thursday at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, India.
According to the Times of India, the performance consisted of a “cage setup” featuring Shah and company president Raju Datla.
picture Video posted on social media showed the moment the cable connecting the cage snapped, sending the two executives tumbling 15 feet to the ground.
Shah and Datla were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Shah was pronounced dead. Datla is “fighting for his life,” the Times of India reported.
A Vistex official told the Times that the pair had been lowered from their cages onto a platform below as part of an event planned to kick off the festival.
A Vistex representative told Nexstar in a statement that the company is “awaiting official information.”
Vistex, which has 20 offices and more than 2,000 employees around the world, had arranged for the commemoration to be held over two days.
The company was founded in 1999 by Mr. Shah.
