Dallas Grundy, executive vice president and chief financial officer at the University of Akron, will retire from the university in March after more than three years at the university.
Mr. Grundy will become CFO of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, effective March 25. His last day in Akron will be March 15th.
President Gary L. Miller appointed Mr. Grundy in fall 2020 to oversee the university's $300 million annual budget. He previously served as associate dean and chief financial officer at the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.
Grundy said in a statement that the decision to retire was “not an easy one” and that while he had no intention of leaving Akron, this job was an opportunity to return to his “East Coast roots” and be closer to his family, who live in Akron. He said it was. Philadelphia.
“The University of Akron and the Akron community are very special to me and my family, and we will greatly miss the people and city we have come to know and love,” Grundy said.
Mr. Miller appointed Jill Bautista, vice president of operations, as interim senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective March 18.
The university will conduct a search for a new executive vice president and chief financial officer, a process expected to take several months.
