By Saturday morning, the Culinary Union announced it had reached a tentative five-year contract with Binion's, Four Queens, Fremont and Main Street for about 1,000 workers.
The Golden Nugget, Downtown Grand and Virgin Las Vegas near the Strip have not reached agreements with the union.
The Las Vegas Strip's three largest employers, MGM Resorts International, Caesar Entertainment and Wynn Resorts, narrowly avoided a historic strike late last year when they reached an agreement with a union covering 40,000 members. .
The union then focused on winning similar contract terms at other Las Vegas hotel-casinos.
Since early January, the union has concluded negotiations with most of these properties, including Circus Circus, Sahara Las Vegas, Strato, Circa Resort and El Cortez.
But negotiations with some of the remaining casinos have stalled, and the union announced last week that downtown casino workers at the properties with no agreements could strike if a preliminary contract wasn't signed by 5 a.m. Monday. announced that it would be implemented.
About 330,000 people are expected to visit Las Vegas this week for the NFL's 58th championship game, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Bureau.
