Oklahoma City police are releasing a video to the public in hopes of identifying the man who was filmed stomping on a puppy.
“Most people hear about serial killers and start killing animals, and that's real,” Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Supervisor John Gary said.
Police say the incident was captured on camera in front of a store in southeast Oklahoma City.
Police who witnessed the footage said the man was a danger to society and needed to be identified before he harmed any more animals or people. “It's kind of mind-boggling how someone could do something like that to such a defenseless creature,” Gary said.
The video was discovered after management reviewed her footage. The video showed an unknown man walking down the street. “He was grabbing the dog's back legs. If you watch the video, you can see his nose dragging on the ground as the dog was walking,” said MSgt. Jennifer Wardlow, Oklahoma City Police Department.
“He punched me, kicked me and stomped me over and over again,” Gary said.
The video shows the man stomping on the dog multiple times before leaving the dog to crawl away. “At this point we haven't found the puppy. Obviously our biggest fear right now is that he's gone somewhere and he's gone,” Gary said. .
Investigators believe the man was nearby and may be living at a homeless camp or in a nearby home. “He was walking, so we assume he lived nearby in that area,” Gary said.
They are hoping someone can help police identify the man seen in the video. “Because anyone who tries to do that is dangerous,” Gary said.
If he is not arrested, investigators fear he will continue to commit violent crimes. “These types of attacks usually lead to larger attacks on people and domestic violence. Finding this person is important and could help protect people in the future,” Gary said. Told.
