BALTIMORE – A 29-year-old man is in stable condition after being shot in the face Monday afternoon near Baltimore's historic Lexington Market.
Police have confirmed that two persons of interest are in custody.
“I just found out my friend was shot,” said Tee Tee, a Baltimore resident.
WJZ spoke to a woman who said she knew the victim.
“I'm just trying to hurry and get out of here as quickly as possible,” Teetee said.
The shooting happened just before 2:30 p.m. at the corner of Lexington and Eutaw streets as officers patrolled the area.
The MTA suspended service at the Lexington Market subway station during the evening commute while police investigated for hours.

But people WJZ spoke to said the same problems persist, even though the building has been renovated.
“It's a dangerous area,” Teetee said. “That's the worst place to be. You can't just stand there like you would stand at a bus stop — because you're downtown, you're in Lexington Market. Come on.”
Last May, five people were shot outside a market in mid-afternoon.
The victim survived and was later released by police. suspect videobut no arrests have been made yet.
Four months later, two more people were shot dead near the market. One of them died.
After Monday's shooting, neighbors told WJZ they are tired of the area being a hotspot for violence.
“I’m sorry it happened because things happen here every day,” Teetee said.
Police have not yet announced whether they will charge those involved.
The man is expected to survive the gunfire.
