After all, Sony was coming to CinemaCon. In a sense. Adrian Smith, head of domestic sales for Sony, took to the stage to introduce Crunchyroll's first presentation at the Las Vegas Exhibition and Studio Conference. Smith said with a twinkle in his eye that the label has “exceeded all of our expectations and everyone at Sony is excited about the future and what's to come.”
During the show, Crunchyroll Senior Vice President of Global Commerce Mitchell Berger announced a number of new acquisitions, theatrical release dates, and teasers of upcoming features.

Some of the new films the company has acquired for North America and select international markets are highly anticipated. Blue Rock THE MOVIE Episode Nagianother world adventure Overlord – Sacred Kingdom and Haikyu!! Trash can battlethe latter will be released in North America on May 31st.
Mr. Berger also Spy x Family Code: Whitethe first film in the popular television series that Crunchyroll and Sony will release in North American theaters on April 19th.
Speaking on stage, Berger provided a primer on anime and its immense popularity around the world, calling it a “true lifestyle.” Overall, the executive said there are 1 billion fans of anime worldwide, and last year's box office revenue was $14 billion, and this year's global box office revenue will reach $37 billion.
Crunchyroll and Sony release Haikyu!! Trash can battle It will be released in North American theaters on May 31, 2024, and in offshore markets from late May to late June (see below for full list of dates).
Haikyu!! Trash can battle It was released in Japan on March 29th and has grossed over $60 million to date, making it the biggest local title of the year so far.
The story depicts the exploits of Shoyo Hinata, a former player known as the “Little Giant” who joins the Karasuno High School volleyball club with the aim of becoming the player he admires. However, Hinata soon realizes that he must team up with his middle school nemesis, Tobio Kageyama. Their clashing styles become a surprising weapon, but will they be able to defeat their rival Nekoma High School in the long-awaited ultimate showdown between opposing weak teams, “Trash Battle?''
A Production IG work based on the original work by Haruichi Furudate, directed and written by Susumu Mitsunaka.
Overlord Holy Kingdom The first feature film in the fan-favorite series, based on the light novel by Kugane Maruyama, and the sequel to the series after Season 4. The story is about Momonga, an ordinary office worker, who suddenly discovers his favorite video game.
Directed by Naoyuki Ito, the film is based on Kugane Maruyama's original work. This is a Madhouse film, and the release date has not yet been determined.
