brian kelly Since taking over at LSU, he has made recruiting Louisiana a top priority. The 2024 class is a case in point, with the Tigers signing 11 of the top 13 prospects in the state en route to the No. 7 recruiting class in the nation.
Their plans appear to be the same in 2025, and they've already secured commitments from seven of the state's top 10 players.
They are also eyeing several others from Boots, including defensive lineman Edna Carr of New Orleans corey adams. Adams may not be ranked in the top 10 at the moment, but he's a player that both the LSU staff and On3's scouting and rankings teams highly value. He currently ranks just outside of four-star status in his latest On300 rankings, but could make a big jump with a strong senior campaign.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder is considering transfers from a number of schools, but the in-state Tigers are the ones holding the momentum right now. On Tuesday, LSU recruiting officials Billy Embody and Shea Dixon both recorded his picks in favor of LSU on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
Beating the Tigers' expectations
Regarding selecting Adams to the Bayou Bengals, Dixon wrote:
“The Tigers do not have any defensive linemen or edge rushers in the 2025 class, but the additions of defensive line coach Bo Davis and edge rusher coach Kevin Peoples bring significant changes to the board and new names. For Adams, the New Orleans native remains a defensive line target who remains on the board from his previous defensive staff, and area recruiter Frank Wilson has the Tigers firmly in the top group. It played a big role in keeping it that way.
… Adams has visited LSU multiple times over the past six months, and between the push from Wilson and the staff and Adams' ties to the program, our prediction for the Tigers is spot on with a 75% confidence score. I went inside. ”
Adams received an offer from brian kelly They will then play the in-state Tigers in October. He returned to Baton Rouge in January for LSU's Elite Junior Day, along with several Edna Kerr teammates and family members.
“They made me feel welcome,” Adams On3 said of his return visit to LSU. “There are a lot of new bonds that need to be made. Their EDGE coach (Kevin Peoples) Sometimes it comes to mind. When I was there, I liked it, my parents liked it, and my brother liked it too. They were into it. They talked about academics, how school is run, and how it helps them in life. ”
