BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) — In the spirit of Mardi Gras, the Barkus & Mew crew gathered at Louisiana Downs in Bossier City on Sunday (February 4) to host their annual pet parade.
The stars of the carnival procession were seen strutting around and having fun in both the parade and the pet costume contest.
This free, family-friendly event featured many food trucks and other vendors.
KSLA News 12's Biskie Duncan and Priscilla Borrego served as judges for the pet costume contest. We both enjoyed seeing all the animals come out and celebrate.
And parade participant Chris Hunter found a new friend. “I adopted Hunter, a black lab, from Bossier City Animal Control.
“And he's so sweet. I'm so lucky to have him and have the opportunity to meet him,” Hunter said. “So, thanks to Bossier City Animal Control, we are bringing him home today and hopefully building a bond and growing together.”
