Pop Isaacs earned all-conference honors Tuesday for the second time in his career, but this one on a national level.
Isaacs, the Texas Tech basketball team's leading scorer, was selected to the All-Big 12 second team by the Associated Press, which is voted on by beat writers throughout the conference.
On Sunday, Isaacs was named third-team all-league honoree by Big 12 coaches along with Darrion Williams.
Isaacs is a 6-foot-2 sophomore guard who leads Texas Tech in scoring with an average of 16.0 points per game. He is averaging 3.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game. The Las Vegas native shot 35 percent from the floor, 30 percent from 3-point range and 84 percent from the free throw line during the regular season.

Houston's Kelvin Sampson and Jamal Shihed took home the top individual awards. Sampson received nine votes and was named Coach of the Year. Iowa State's TJ Otzelberger received six votes, with Texas Tech's Grant McCasland and BYU's Mark Pope splitting the remaining votes.
Shihed was voted Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year by the league's coaches and was named Associated Press Player of the Year. Hunter Dickinson of Kansas State won Rookie of the Year.
The Red Raiders (22-9, 11-7) begin Big 12 Tournament play at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
