Ted Kravitz says he doesn't need to worry about the RB20's bodywork, it's the nose and front wing that will surprise him when he sees the car at next week's race in Bahrain.
Red Bull has captured the attention of the F1 paddock by unveiling the 2024 RB20 with some Mercedes-style parts.
Breaking away from the dominant RB19 design philosophy, the new car is equipped with Mercedes-style sidepod inlets and a gully that was present on the W14's engine cover.
Red Bull's innovation continues to attract attention
Sky Sports analyst Bernie Collins wondered if this was the car that took to the Bahrain circuit on Wednesday morning.
“I think maybe having spent so many years in F1 has made me more skeptical,” she said on the latest Sky F1 podcast. This may be a bit of a joke. ”
But it was this car that had experts praising Red Bull's innovation.
But while Collins had doubts about the bodywork, it's the front wing that interests Kravitz.
When we showed off the RB20 at the launch, the last part of the nose cone had an additional strip at the end, held in place with four screws.
It was speculated that it would be ballast or just an add-on to the release car, but Kravitz believed it would happen. It wasn't.

Pointing to the wing waiting to be bolted onto Verstappen's RB20 in the pitlane, the Sky Pitlane reporter said: To be a trick and be removed.
“And there is only a joint between the nose and the second main plane on the front wing.
“Well, not really. But that doesn't mean the nose doesn't exist, it just doesn't really show us what a real nose looks like.
“I would be surprised if the actual nose looked like that for the race in a week, but nothing is impossible.”
