Tacoma Humane Society and Pierce County Pet Food and Supply Pantry are in urgent need of donations of dry dog food due to the growing need in Pierce County.
In 2023, the shelter's Pet Food & Supply Pantry distributed approximately 90,000 pounds of pet food to more than 7,000 local pets in need. Demand has already doubled this year, putting an even greater strain on pantry resources.
“As the cost of living continues to rise, pet owners are being forced to make heart-wrenching decisions between their own well-being and the well-being of their beloved companions,” said CEO of the Tacoma-Pierce County Humane Society. , says Leslie Dalzell. “We are appealing to the community and beyond to donate dry dog food to ensure Pierce County pets get the food they need and can remain with their loved ones.”
