OTA, bookings to the country surge
Kiwi.com says Switzerland has emerged as a trending destination, with bookings to the country soaring.
The Czech-based OTA reported that bookings to Switzerland in 2024 increased by 20.7% compared to 2023, and passenger numbers increased by 28.4%.
He added that prices in Switzerland so far this year have been on average 16.8% cheaper than last year.
The most booked Swiss airport is Geneva, followed by Basel and Zurich. Currently, the most booked routes to Geneva are from Prague, London and Barcelona. Kiwi.com reports on Basel's popularity from Budapest and Warsaw.

According to Kiwi.com's booking data, the top nationalities booking flights to Switzerland are France, Romania, Germany, Spain and Poland.
The reservation window has expanded by six days to 35 days in 2024, compared to 29 days in 2023. Meanwhile, customers booking round-trip travel plan to stay in Switzerland for an average of five days, based on bookings made between January 1 and March 29 in both years. Excludes Swiss citizens.
