Milwaukee radio stations deliver purposeful entertainment and help small business owners thrive.
On Saturday at the Potawatomi Casino Hotel, Jammin' 98.3 hosted an event featuring dozens of vendors covering everything from health care to fashion.
“This is a great opportunity for so many beautiful women to come together, network, share their small businesses, and provide resources that can actually help save lives,” said Shatavia Brown, radio host and event host. That's what it means,” he said.
The Gathering event has been going on for over 20 years. TMJ4's Andrea Williams was part of the Jammin '98.3 team that started this event at the time.
Williams said The Gathering has grown significantly over the years, and Saturday's event welcomed hundreds of attendees, including Shea Eubanks, owner of Shea Shoes & Apparel.
“The event is great. The merchandise is selling out,” Eubanks said. “It was overwhelming, but it was a good overwhelming feeling, so I’m glad I came.”
The event also featured special guest Junior from The Steve Harvey Morning Show and audience favorite JazzyRae's Jewels & Accessories fashion showcase.
“This was the whole vibe. This was a totally black vibe,” said Lannon Cobb of the 2 Kings Baber shop. “We want everyone to understand that this is what we do and this is what we need more of from our community.”
