In the series, Smith plays a janitor mired in debt, addiction, and an expensive custody battle, who is thrust into the world of insider trading after discovering a financial secret.
Reviews at the time praised the actress' performance. The series was also praised for how well it held everything together, even if the plot delved into something a little ridiculous.
Another archival ITV series that is doing well on Netflix after recently joining the service is: fat friendsa 2000-2005 series starring Future gavin & stacey Cast members include Ruth Jones, Alison Steadman, and James Corden. Sheridan Smith also appeared in several episodes.
