Our newsroom may report stories under the byline “Staff.” The “staff” byline is often used when rewriting basic news summaries that come from official sources and require little or no reporting, such as city press releases about road closures. This byline is sometimes used when a news article has many authors or is created by aggregating previously reported news from different sources. If external sources are used, they will be noted within the story.
