FFirst Lady Jill Biden has a message for women who want to see more social progress in America: Even if you have a different job, find time to make a difference. Because that's the only way to get where we want to be. ”
Dr. Biden made these remarks during an exclusive sit-down interview with Morning Joe co-host and “Know Your Value” founder Mika Brzezinksi at the White House last week. The interview, which you can read more about here, took place in a room full of women from the Forbes 50 Over 50 community and the Know Your Value founding community. Women founders and changemakers looking to expand their impact on business, society, and culture in 2024. (I can say that because I spoke to many women during the event!)
Micah and Dr. Biden also discussed the continuing threats to women's health in the United States, and Micah wrote a special article for ForbesWomen specifically about this part of the conversation, and also about her own recent medical efforts. Ta. Data doesn't lie. Women's health remains underfunded and under-resourced (and, of course, still subject to social stigma), and Dr. Biden believes that the White House's efforts on women's health will help reverse these trends. I look forward to it. She is also optimistic that the collective energy of women who want to make real change in this field will create long-term progress.
“Women in this country understand that we must continue to fight,” she said. “And we're going to be out there fighting every day. We're not going to stop.”
cheers!
