The City of Sandusky announced it has received a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of Canada (GFOA) for its 2022 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, according to a news release.
The Association of Government Finance Officers says the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in government accounting and financial reporting, and its achievement represents a significant accomplishment by the government and its management team.
“We are honored to receive the Certificate of Achievement from GFOA,” City of Sandusky Finance Director Michelle Reeder said in the release. “This award recognizes our commitment to transparency and quality financial reporting.
“This is a testament to the dedication of our team and a clear signal to our community that we maintain the highest standards in government finance.”
The Government Finance Officers Association recognizes that local governments go beyond the minimum requirements of accounting principles to produce comprehensive annual financial reports that demonstrate a spirit of transparency and full disclosure. We started this awards program in 1945 to encourage and support recognition. goal, the release said.
