Justin Fields has been traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Saturday, shocking athletes on social media.
The Chicago Bears selected Fields with the 11th pick in the 2021 draft. The quarterback played in 40 games. The Steelers acquired Fields for a sixth-round pick in 2025, which could be converted into a fourth-round pick depending on playing time.
Two-time MVP Lamar Jackson is the only quarterback in league history other than Fields to have more rushing yards in his first three seasons, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
Fields will join a group of quarterbacks that the Steelers signed earlier this week, including Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson. This is the first time since 1957 that Pittsburgh did not return a quarterback from the previous season.
