buttercup
gender male
Age: 4 years old
Weight: 8 lbs
Species: Cat
Breed: Domestic Shorthair – Orange/White Tabby
Isolation start date: January 9th
Adoption fee: $50
Buttercup holds a special place in SPCA Florida's heart. He lived outside of an adoption center with other community cats his entire life. Staff and volunteers fed him, gave him plenty of treats and provided him with outdoor shelter. Then one day, the back door opened and he wandered in to join the other foster cats on the screened patio. He'd been popping into bars and playing with them for years, until he finally felt comfortable enough to join them. Buttercup is still a little shy around strangers, but she enjoys being petted and even likes to sit on the lap of someone she trusts. He still longs for the outdoors and will jump out and scratch the screen, so you need to be careful. He loves other cats, and he also became best friends with Lorina, an adopted cat from Florida. If you can afford two kittens, the adoption fee for the second kitten will be waived. You can meet both at his cattery Tinkers His Legacy at the Florida SPCA. To learn more about these two loves of hers, visit www.spcaflorida.org.
