Palmer decided to slick her hair back and put it in a tight bun. The style complemented her menswear-inspired look. She wore an oversized white dinner coat by Tom Ford, which she teamed with a white dress shirt and black bow tie. She also wore black wide-leg pants. This look was styled by Seth Chernoff.
“It's a little ode to entertainers, vaudevillians, Sammy Davis Jr., Julie Andrews, and a little bit of 'Victor/Victoria,'” Palmer told Terrence J before the event.
But she wasn't the only one channeling retro inspiration. Usher seems to have taken her inspiration from the 1970s. His black silk suit fit snugly to his body and his shirt was unbuttoned to his chest. His pants were characterized by flared hems.
John Boyega was also looking backwards. He wore an oversized double-breasted pinstripe suit with a matching trench coat.
