MORRISTOWN, New Orleans — Dozens of rescue pets aboard a flight from New Orleans landed at the Morristown Airport Wednesday in search of loving homes on the East Coast.
The charity that organized the flight said the Valentine's Day-themed flight included more than 60 dogs and about 15 cats that would eventually be put up for adoption. Some of the animals will be sent to St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in Madison, while others will be adopted by organizations in Pennsylvania and New York.

Through its Good Flight program, Greater Good Charities organizes the transportation of at-risk and vulnerable shelter pets, where they can find new loving homes.
Good Flight specifically focuses on “homeless cats, asymptomatic heartworm-positive shelter dogs, disaster relief, and large dogs that are difficult to house,” the charity said.
Other shelters taking in animals include Charwill's German Shepherd Rescue in eastern Pennsylvania and Animal Haven in New York City.
