Shamrock: moving forward on three legs
With an adorable face that anyone is sure to fall in love with, Shamrock will bring good fortune to those lucky enough to meet her. The 8-year-old Shih Tzu certainly never imagined that his path would lead him to the Arizona Humane Society earlier this month.
This adorable senior puppy was found limping with an injured hind leg and rescued by AHS Emergency Veterinary Medical Technicians™. Shamrock was pale, weak, and dehydrated, but it was clear that he had been out alone for quite some time before being injured in what appeared to be a collision with his car. .
After examination at the shelter's trauma hospital, it was determined that Shamrock's hind leg was severely fractured and would need to be amputated. After a few weeks, this cute little girl has made great strides in her new life on her three legs. Shamrock, her absolute lover, affectionate and beyond adorable, hopes that her forever family will find her and that her luck will continue to grow even more. I know.
Recruitment method: Interested pet owners can meet the adorable shamrocks at AHS's PetSmart Scottsdale store. Her adoption fee includes spaying, current vaccinations, microchip, and follow-up health exam at VCA Veterinary Hospital. For more information, visit azhumane.org/adopt.
Little John: Majestic Meatballs
Little John was found unwell earlier this year, suffering from a neck wound and limping. This 2-year-old American bulldog, rescued by Arizona Humane Society's Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ as an injured stray in January, clearly needed help.
In addition to medications for pain and infection, wound care at the shelter's trauma hospital included daily warm compresses and laser treatments. Little John also caught a puppy-like cold during treatment, but he is now back to his normal, active body.
A true bundle of loveliness, Little John wants to find a home with the perfect balance of fun activities like playing and walking, as well as snuggling on the couch with his favorite humans. They are sociable towards people, but a little more forward when meeting other puppies. We recommend this handsome boy meet the other pups in his family first to make sure the energy and play style are a match.
Recruitment method: Interested owners can meet the not-so-small Little John at South Mountain at AHS. His adoption fee includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, microchip, and follow-up health exam at VCA Veterinary Hospital. For more information, visit azhumane.org/adopt.
