CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A pet-focused bake sale was held Saturday at a popular brewery that supports local nonprofits.
Red Dog Pet Resort and Spa held its third annual Doggy Bake Sale at Mad Tree Brewing Company.
All proceeds from the sale were donated to UCAN Pet Care Clinic, a non-profit spay/neuter clinic.
“For our bake sale, we actually partner with local bakeries and they sponsor the baked goods. And we collect all the baked goods and sell them and 100 percent of the proceeds go to UCAN. ,” said Sarah Penny, event coordinator for Red. Dog pet resort.
For three years, Red Dog Pet Resort has spent Valentine's Day weekend at Mad Tree Brewing focusing on pets and sharing their love for them by treating them to baked goods for dogs.
“We have all kinds of baked goods for dogs, all of which are safe for dogs. We have cupcakes, cookies, pup cups and all kinds of premium treats for dogs. We also collect food for dogs. UCAN has a pet food pantry, so we encourage you to bring your own pet food to the event,” Penny said.
In addition to sweet treats for dogs, Mad Tree also had several vendors selling products for pets and their owners.
“We have all kinds of fun things like dog treats, dog bandanas and bow ties, dog stuffed animals,” Penny said.
More importantly, the funds raised will help UCAN continue to support the community.
“We are a nonprofit spay/neuter clinic that helps low-income families access veterinary care for their dogs. Spaying and neutering is especially important because current shelter overpopulation means that people “This is directly linked to not having your pet spayed or neutered,” Penny explains.
