After a heartbreaking 92-94 loss to Syracuse on Wednesday night, the Cardinals return to the Ville to take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Coach Damon Stoudamire's Yellow Jackets are 10-13 on the season and 3-9 in conference play. They have some notable wins, including defeating the University of North Carolina and Duke University at home earlier this year. However, the Jackets have seemed to struggle offensively this entire season, and with them playing in the Yam Center, I'm sure it will be difficult for them to get the offense going tonight. Louisville has shown great strides in recent days on both the offensive and defensive sides of the court, and with no injuries on either sideline, I think we'll see some great ACC basketball today.
Betting odds started with Louisville as a -1.5 point favorite, over-under 153.5. The odds are now about the same, with Louisville still the -1.5 favorite, but the over-under has moved slightly to his 152.5. The cards are at -120 on the money line, but the tech is even.
Louisville was really good against Syracuse on Wednesday night. They rebounded the ball well, had some steals and blocks against the Orange, and overall looked like a well-coached team. The only problem was turnovers, with the Cards committing 17 turnovers that turned into 23 points for Syracuse. They have to improve their ball management. But if Louisville can ultimately cut down on turnovers and continue to rebound the ball well, we should see a great game tonight. After all, there's nothing more fun in the Ville than Saturday night basketball.
