The Poway Chamber of Commerce invites job seekers and community members to the Business Expo & Hiring Event scheduled for Tuesday, March 19th.
The free event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Oak Hall East Room of the Mickey Cafagna Community Center, 13094 Civic Center Drive.
Mike Leland, president of the Poway Chamber of Commerce, said companies that are actively hiring or just want to share information about their operations plan to attend.
“Originally, we called it a career fair, but we changed it to a recruitment event to differentiate between recruitment and careers,” Leland said. “People could be hired on the spot.”
Leland said there will be space in the community center's courtyard for business participants to interview job candidates. Participants looking for work are encouraged to bring their resumes, he said.
Leland said participants cover a wide range of industries, including financial services, insurance, investments, health care, child care and senior services. Some of the larger participants will include the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and El Camino Memorial Park, he added.
Leland said the hiring outlook is positive for businesses in the hospitality sector, senior services and the South Poway Business Park.
