The driver is in jail after a pickup truck crashes into a downtown office building. columbia police department said on Monday.
Jarry Validares Herrera, 32, was charged with driving under the influence, two counts of hit-and-run and driving under a traffic stop, according to jail records.
On Saturday night, Validares-Herrera is suspected of driving a pickup truck that skidded two parked cars on Pendleton Street before crashing into a chiropractor's office in the 1300 block of Elmwood Avenue. He was charged, police announced in a news release. Pendleton Street is more than a mile away from his chiropractor's office.

Validares-Herrera was taken to a local hospital as a precaution, but medical staff told officers his injuries were not serious, the release said.
No other injuries were reported.
Validares-Herrera was then taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, where he remains in custody, according to jail records.
The Columbia resident's bail was set Monday at $2,129.50 in total charges, according to Richland County court records. Validares-Herrera is scheduled to return to court on March 12, according to judicial records.
