rocky mount, north carolina — Canadian pet treat manufacturer Crump Group Inc. announced an $85 million expansion within three years of opening its first production facility in Nash County.
Nash County Economic Development Director Andy Hagee says this is a win for the county.
“I think this speaks volumes about the company. They're doing exactly what we wanted them to do, and they're expanding with capital investment and hiring, and they're making this county a great place to do business.” “It speaks volumes about what a great place it is,” said Hagee.
Hagee said there has been $745 million in capital investment from local expansion and new business in Nash County so far this year. He's optimistic about what the rest of the year will bring.
“It's always exciting news when local industry announces facility expansions. It's a sign of growth for the company and a compliment to Nash County,” Hagee said.
The 2021 facility acquisition involved an initial investment of over $40 million in property procurement.
“The Crump Group's significant expansion announcement is exciting news for Nash County and the Research Triangle region,” said Nash County Commission Chair Robbie Davis. “Crump's expansion will continue to help diversify the local economy and expand the county's food processing cluster. We congratulate them on this great news,” Davis said.
North Carolina sweet potatoes have been used as a key ingredient in several company products for many years. Nash County facilities can help source ingredients.
