LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet every Friday to help you start your weekend in the best possible mood.
The Pet of the Week can be a local fur baby already living in a happy home in Lebanon County. Our weekly column may also spotlight animals that are available for adoption through local shelters and are looking for their forever families.
This week, meet adoptable Cali!
Kali is between 1 and 2 years old. She was “brought to us as a stray cat with a compound fracture in her leg,” according to the county representative for the Lebanon Humane Society. Unfortunately, her X-ray results were dire and “it was determined that she would need to have her leg amputated in order to have a better quality of life.”
Despite living in pairs, Cali was able to enjoy life to the fullest.
“She is a sweet girl who likes to look at birds from the window, and will often bump her head to say hello,” a shelter official said. “She's a talkative girl when the food is ready,” she added. “For now, she'll probably do better in a home without other animals.” Over time, we don't know if she'll get used to another fur baby. She is still learning how to have only three legs, so it will take some time for her to get used to her new environment. ”
If you are interested in adopting Cali, please fill out an adoption application online at lebanonhumane.org or call the Humane Society at 717-628-1369 for more information.
