Pets may wander around. We like them to roam around. We're fascinated by their wanderings, but sometimes we wish we could wander as much as our furry friends. That being said, you may want to know where your pet is wandering. To that end, Hao on hackster devised a project to create a pet monitoring device using Seeed XIAO ESP32S3 Sense, Raspberry Pi 4, Homeassistant, ESPhome, Mosquitto, and YOLOV8. Click here for more details!
In this project, we integrated the Seeed XIAO ESP32S3 Sense into a home assistant platform via WIFI, turning it into a monitoring module that seamlessly integrates into your home internet system. Additionally, it supports automatic pet recognition beyond basic monitoring functions. It can be installed in areas where you do not want your pet to enter, such as the kitchen or open balcony. When your pet enters the designated area and is photographed by the camera, Home Assistant can immediately send a push notification to your mobile device. You can also trigger other actions to entice your pet to leave the area, such as making a sound or activating a toy.
