Battle between Georgia and Penn State
Penn State currently has Zollers at 49.5% on the On3 recruiting prediction machine, but Georgia continues to consider Zollers a top priority. Still, it will take some effort to lure Zollers away from in-state programs.
“If I had to pick a team to beat, I'm still leaning toward Penn State,” Simmons said. “He's been there many times, I think Happy Valley has double-digit visits. He's only been to Georgia once. Obviously, that one visit earlier this year I think we made a strong impression and made it to the top four, competing with Penn State for the top spot.
“If I had to lean one way or the other because of comfort, distance to home, familiarity, etc., I would go to Penn State. But they have a very close relationship with Georgia State. [Georgia offensive coordinator] Mike Bobo — What they've been doing as a program the last few years has definitely gotten his attention. ”
