“Microchipping is one of the first things we look for in pets that are found,” said PCAS Director Mike Shumate. “While the microchip is not a tracking device, it does store your contact information so if your pet comes to our shelter as a stray, you will know who to contact.”
In addition to a free microchip, PCAS is partnering with Pet Hub to give all participants a free collar and tag to further increase their pet's chances of finding a home.
Veterinarians will implant pet microchips, up to three per vehicle, while supplies last. All cats must be placed in a carrier bag.
