BRIGHTON — A local couple and their investment partners have split a former steakhouse in downtown Brighton into three locations. Earlier this week, we announced what the final slot would be.
Town to Trail Outfitters, an outdoor and lifestyle clothing store with hiking and camping gear, is scheduled to open at 312 Main Street later this year.
Todd and Natalie Buckley have already moved their business to two other stores. One is Buckley, of whom Todd is a partner, owns his Jolly Real Estate team, and the other is Natalie's Boutique Wallflower, which owns his Mercantile.
“That was one of the concepts we looked at for that space,” Todd said of Town to Trail Outfitters. “We both really like those types of stores, and given Natalie's retail experience and love of the outdoors, camping, skiing, hiking and running, it's a natural fit.”
While Todd is assembling a team to run the store, he said he will continue to act as a real estate agent and Natalie will continue to run the store.
“It's going to be a combination of outdoor apparel and lifestyle apparel,” he said. “It was important to us to attract top brands, brands that people know or want to know about.”
Outdoor stores carry a limited selection of outdoor gear, including backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, headlamps, and water bottles.
The shop plans to host special events and collaborate with other downtown merchants, including Running Lab.
Buckley said he expects the new store to open in August or September.

The building has a varied history. It housed a dime store until the 1980s, when it was first converted into three stores and housed various businesses over the years. When Sagano Japanese Bistro and Steakhouse opened in 2009, the approximately 7,700 square foot building was modified to house one of his businesses.
After the restaurant closed in early 2022, the building was purchased by Mill Pond Centennial Building and returned to a different front.
