The Nick Saban effect is still spilling over into college football, and Ohio State is looking to take advantage of it.
They've already done it once with Alabama cornerback Naeem Offord, and the Buckeyes are trying to do the same with offensive tackle Micah DeBose.
Head coach Ryan Day has made the 6-foot-5, 315-pound tackle a top priority, and he even personally visited the head coach in January to watch him play basketball. Despite the effort, unfortunately for Ohio State, it looks like it will be an uphill battle for DeBose to land in Columbus.
On Monday, 247Sports' Anna Adams gave LSU a crystal ball pick, as the Tigers appear to have the potential to go No. 5 in tackles and No. 28 overall, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.
Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day is staying here in Mobile, Alabama amid reports that Caleb Downs is transferring to Ohio State.

The good news is that the Buckeyes have another chance to impress DeBose, as Adams has also said that Ohio State will receive an official visit from DeBose (subscription required). This game isn't over yet, but it doesn't look too good for him to end up playing for the Scarlet and Gray at this point.
