Jerome Bettis is one of the greatest running backs in the history of Notre Dame football or the football era. He's also one of the best running backs in NFL history.
Bettis, nicknamed Bass, won a Super Bowl with the Steelers. He was also a great running back for Notre Dame football and was selected 10th overall in the NFL Draft after scoring 27 touchdowns for the Fighting Irish.
Bettis rushed for 13,662 yards in his NFL career. Although his career in South Bend was limited to just under 2,000 points, Bettis was a force in the league, and now that he's grown up, his son wants to commit to Notre Dame football.
Bettis Jr. is ranked No. 578 overall in the 2025 class out of Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to this week, he had twice made crystal ball projections into Notre Dame football, his father's alma mater, dating back to March of last year.
But Anna Adams joined Steve Wiltfong and 247 Sports' Tom Roy this week to make the inevitable commitment feel even more certain with her own crystal ball projection.
All three experts have a high confidence rating of six or higher for the Irish to land the 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver. The Irish are the leaders at the moment, but Arkansas, Arkansas State, Boston College and California are all in the mix, but it's starting to feel like a legacy effort.
You could even say “the bus” is trying to take my son to South Bend.
