“Tom has been a great partner since we first started our organization's efforts in 2018. He has helped thousands of people join this effort by helping pack meals at Nationwide events. Not only did they inspire others to do so, but they also responded to the call to serve personally,” said Mike Whitaker, No Child Hungry’s executive vice president and COO. “It can be difficult to find time as an executive, but Tom's willingness to be hands-on and build relationships during sales activities is special. Great leaders inspire others, not just by their words but by their actions. They encourage people to follow their lead. They lead by example and this is what sets them apart from other companies. Tom has exemplified this dynamic for many years.”
No Child Hungry has been authorized to award the President's Volunteerism Award as an official accredited organization in 2023. “We believe it is extremely important to recognize the outstanding volunteers who have dedicated hundreds of hours to support our mission,” Whitaker added. “As President Bush said, “There is no definition of a successful life that does not include service to others.''
