- I paid $6,100 for a group of 6 people to take a VIP tour of Disneyland.
- This price includes the cost of the VIP tour, Park Hopper ticket, and tip for the tour guide.
- As VIPs, we didn't have to wait in line for the rides and were able to get a last minute meet and greet with the characters.
It's hard to imagine spending more than about $6,100 per day at Disneyland. But this was my bill for her family trip of 6 and it was worth it.
For my nephew's 4th birthday, we decided to book a VIP tour and visit both Disneyland and California Adventure in one jam-packed day.
Prices for VIP tours vary depending on the time of year, but I paid $4,900 for the 7-hour experience (not including park ticket costs).
Since we wanted to see both parks and needed to purchase tickets to do the tour, we decided to purchase Park Hopper tickets. In total, we spent about $6,100, including tips for our tour guide.
What was our VIP tour experience like?
As soon as we met our VIP tour guide, we started enjoying all the perks.
We met our guide at the VIP tour desk inside Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. She explained that she would be with us all day and customize our itinerary so we could do everything we wanted to do.
She also said you can ride all the rides you want without having to wait in line. This was a great perk as we were traveling with her two small children.
Throughout the day, our guide took photos of us around the park using his cell phone. This was a great perk as it's not easy to take unique group photos.
Another pleasant surprise was that our guides were often waiting for us with water and popcorn when we got off the ride.
VIP experience makes traveling with small children easier
When we went to California Adventure's Radiator Springs Racers, our guide entertained our 2-year-old niece who was too young to ride. This meant all the adults got to experience the ride with their nephew.
When entering Disneyland, we went straight to the merry-go-round. Horses and benches are on a first-come, first-served basis, but our guide reserved a bench for us. This was very helpful as her niece, who was starting to feel unwell, was able to sit next to her father.
While we were riding the merry-go-round, our guide worked his magic and set up a meet-and-greet with Frozen characters Anna and Elsa.
There are usually long lines at Disneyland to meet the characters. But thanks to our VIP guide, we were able to go inside first.
The children were completely enchanted and we appreciated the cleverly arranged encouragement to re-engage them.
Our guide arranged a unique birthday celebration for my nephew and ensured us VIP seats at the parade
We enjoyed lunch at Blue Bayou and it was amazing. Meals were not included in the price of the VIP tour, but our guide secured a last-minute reservation for us. This would have been almost impossible for us alone.
She also arranged for the delivery of a Mickey Mouse themed cake for my nephew's birthday celebration.
After lunch we had time to ride a few more rides before taking our seats for the parade.
We were in a special roped-off section reserved for VIP guests, so we could see all the floats up close.
Overall, the VIP experience was well worth it
For a good amount of money, we were able to visit two parks in one day and skip the lines. The concierge had access to meet-and-greets with characters and last-minute meal reservations, including birthday cake.
Some of the perks include having a guide push your stroller, meet you with a water bottle and snacks after the ride, take action shots of your family, and take you to a night parade with VIP seats. I did it.
A once in a lifetime trip with my family was worth the money.
