A woman trekking in Maharashtra's Raigad district broke her leg and became stranded. Luckily for her, members of the Mumbai Police Emergency Response Team who were returning from her training noticed her and immediately came to her aid. They used the clothes they were wearing to build a makeshift stretcher and carry the woman downhill to base camp. A video was shared online by the Mumbai Police showing a team carrying the woman on a makeshift stretcher. The team's heroic actions in rescuing the injured trekker have been widely praised.
“Quick response in any situation!” Mumbai Police wrote while sharing the video on Instagram. In the next few lines, the police shared how members of the emergency response team saved the injured trekker.
“Recruits in our emergency response team noticed that a trekker had a broken leg while descending from a trek during training at Karnala Fort.With no means of rescue, the recruits made a temporary “A stretcher was constructed and the injured woman was transported for two hours to the base camp. She was officially transferred to the hospital for medical assistance,” the ministry added.
