EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 13, 2024) – Padonda B. Webb ’03 (DNP, FNP-BC) has been appointed Melody Pearce’s Assistant Vice President for Health and Wellness in the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Office of Student Affairs . The announcement was made today by Vice President for Student Affairs Dr.
“Dr. Webb has dedicated over 20 years of his adult life to helping others and has always said, 'Success is not about how much money you make. Success is not about how much money you make.' We have continued to uphold this motto. It’s about the difference you make in people’s lives,” Pierce said.
Ms. Webb has worked at her alma mater for the past eight years. She has held various clinical and leadership positions within the Dr. Alvin V. Blount Jr. Student Health Center, serving as the center's executive director since 2020 and leading the university through the COVID-19 pandemic. He led me to the back. Under her leadership, A&T is one of her four universities in the University of North Carolina System to actively work to vaccinate students, faculty and staff on campus as well as community members. We established a national model to fight the pandemic.
As executive director of the Blount Student Health Center, Mr. Webb has earned numerous honors, including the NC A&T University Aggie Pride Excellence Award for Going the Extra Mile and the 2021 NC A&T Student Affairs Outstanding Employee.
Mr. Webb also serves as co-principal investigator of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Healthy Equity Data Consortium, a partnership with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
Her diverse work experience as a board-certified health care provider includes emergency medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, and primary care at the Triad, in addition to student health services.
Mr. Webb is a member of the American College Health Association (ACHA), where his activities include founding and co-chairing the HBCU Coalition and co-chairing the Racial Marginalization and Health Inequities Task Force. She received the Hannibal E. Howell Junior Award from ACHA for Advancing Diversity in University Health in 2021.
Webb earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from A&T, her master's degree in nursing from Winston-Salem State University, and her DNP from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. She is both a Registered Nurse (RN) and an Advanced Practice Nurse and is certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support by the American Red Cross and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support by the American Heart Association. She has published several papers and presented at local and national health conferences, and currently teaches at Winston-Salem State University, where she is an adjunct professor, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
