Hollister Police said Friday that Animal Services rescued more than 200 dogs and cats from an animal rescue center. “Dozens of animals were found in poor conditions, without food or water, and with fecal matter in their enclosures,” Hollister police said in a statement.
SPCA Monterey County humane personnel are currently en route there to assist with search and rescue efforts.
To date, animal control officers have seized 13 dogs from the property. They partnered with Hitchcock Road Animal Services, Red Dog Ranch Animal Rescue, Cat Crew California, Joybound and other agencies to help care for and adopt approximately 200 cats. ing.
