Gifts to Penn State Health Children's Hospital Children's Miracle Network (CMN) totaled $100,170 during Penn State Healthy Children's Week, a fundraising campaign held April 8-14, 2024. did.

These gifts support CMN's Patient Assistance Fund, which provides meal and gas vouchers, medical equipment, specialty medications, and other relief to patients and their families.
Last year, Joshua Yoder spent 18 days at Penn State Health Children's Hospital battling an aggressive respiratory virus. Throughout Joshua's stay, her mother, Jean Yoder, stayed by her side as the medical team placed her on a ventilator and monitored her progress.
“For the first few days after being admitted to hospital, I was busy just trying to get my life back together. I am very grateful for the funding through CMN's Patient Support Fund. It made sure I had something to eat and got through the day,” Gene said.
When a child is hospitalized, parents often deal with unexpected challenges and neglect their own needs. Thanks to her CMN, Jean was able to focus on Joshua's recovery while also taking care of her own.
“The Patient Support Fund is more than just a financial resource. It is a lifeline for people who are struggling to meet their basic needs during difficult times. It is a privilege to be a supportive support for others, and we are committed to It is through the collective compassion of the CMN community of donors that we are able to uplift families in need,” said Katie Anderson, Director of Children's Miracle Network.
