Mon Health Medical Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Mustafa Daouadi as Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery, a new comprehensive service offered at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown. It is also similar to the procedure offered at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood.
Dr. Daouadi received his medical degree from the University of Algiers, Algeria. He completed his general surgery internship at Harvard Medical School's Brigham Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, his general surgery residency at Harvard Medical School's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, and He did his residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Center UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Daouadi completed his Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center UPMC He McGee Women's Hospital.
“I have a passion for healthcare for bariatric patients and have been providing this service around the world for many years,” said Dr. Daouadi. “I am proud to bring my expertise and experience to Mon Health System and expand access to obesity care in West Virginia.”
Dr. Daouadi joins Dr. Emanuel Mejias, a Mon Health general surgeon who specializes in bariatric surgery. Through Mon Health Bariatrics, Dr. Daouadi and Dr. Mejias offer advanced surgical procedures including minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgical options.
“I look forward to joining Dr. Daouadi in this new service line and expanding my practice to include my specialty of bariatric medicine,” said Dr. Mejias. “We believe that obesity medicine is an essential specialty in medicine, and I am honored to be part of leading this service at Mon Health.”
