Sure, it's a lot of fun to see a country star appear in a Super Bowl ad. Just ask Jelly Roll or Laney Wilson, who are making cameos in commercials during this year's Big Game.
But when it comes to adorableness that's truly worth it, Miranda Lambert beats them all. She and her MuttNation Foundation are supporting pet adoptions during the Puppy She Bowl, which will air on Animal She Planet on Sunday afternoon (February 11) leading up to Super Bowl LVIII.
A lifelong advocate for shelter pets, Lambert appears throughout Puppy Bowl in a segment spotlighting adoptable puppies (and a few kittens) at shelters across the country. According to the Discovery Channel website, Lambert will also feature senior dogs currently up for adoption.
“I have always had a passion for caring for animals,” Lambert says in a preview clip shared to Animal Planet's social media. “…Throughout the program, we will introduce 11 puppies that are currently available for adoption.”
Puppy Bowl begins Sunday at 2pm ET. 2024 is his 20th anniversary of this event, and to celebrate, Animal Her Planet will bring in 131 puppies from shelters across the country. Puppies of all sizes, from his 1.7-pound Sweet Pea, the smallest Puppy Bowl participant in history, to his 70-pound Great Dane, Levi, the largest, will join the team at a scaled-down soccer stadium, his Ruff or Divided into teams he fluff and compete. . The winning team will receive the “Lombalky” trophy, but of course the real prize is a forever home for these adoptable animals.
Meanwhile, Super Bowl LVIII will kick off at 6:30 p.m. at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The San Francisco 49ers will play the Kansas City Chiefs, with Usher performing the halftime show and Reba McEntire singing the national anthem.
Of course, fans are also looking forward to seeing Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl. The pop megastar is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and she has appeared at every Chiefs game this season, consistent with the Elas Tour.
It has not been confirmed whether Swift will play in a match since playing in the Elas Tour stop in Tokyo, Japan on February 10th. But thanks to the magic of private jets and time zones, there's a good chance Swift will be in Las Vegas to watch the Super Bowl.
