GULFPORT, Mich. (WLOX) – Memorial Health System concluded Women's History Month with an important discussion as part of its DEI program.
At the Gulfport hospital, memorial staff and community members were invited to join the conversation.
A panel discussion was held Tuesday morning that focused on this year's national theme: Women Advocating for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
“I think overall, we all know that we come into opportunities and experiences with implicit bias, and that we think we know something about someone. When in reality, we take a moment to learn… When we listen and fully understand what someone is going through and what barriers they have, we can all do a better job again and our communities will be healthier. It allows us to build better relationships with the public,” said Erin Rossetti of Memorial Health. The systems communications manager says:
This year's speaker lineup includes Chief Nursing Officer Mary Brobst, MSN, RN, Director of Patient Financial Services Crystal Bowler, Dr. PH, MHA, CRC Healthcare Certification Coordinator Lucinda L'Enfant; They included Diane Edrington, RN, BSN Family Nurse Practitioner;
This is the third time this panel has been held. Rosetti said he looks forward to seeing the program continue to grow.
