Duchess Meghan reportedly contacted Serena Williams ahead of her trip to Canada with Prince Harry
Meghan Markle has reportedly selected longtime friend Serena Williams to accompany Prince Harry on his recent trip to Canada.
According to a blind item posted on crazy day and nightthe Duchess of Sussex's offer was “rejected” by the retired athlete for reasons unknown.
But tipsters speculated that Williams, a vocal climate change advocate, had declined because the former royal couple wanted to use the family jet.
“It's hard to raise money and get people to donate when you're flying on a private jet and spending so much money that could be donated,” they added.
This blind item was shared by the X (formerly Twitter) account with the username Royally Sage.
They wrote next to the photo: “Serena dumped Harry's wife as a friend. And it looks like Tyler Perry is starting to say no to his continued use of private jets. So Harkles made the charity pay for it.”
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan recently flew to Canada to celebrate the Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler.
