Meet the woman who turned down an offer of Rs 150 million to set up a company worth Rs 8.38 billion. Pakistani-born Suneera Madani and her brother Salu Remetullah founded Stax in Florida in 2014 with a monthly subscription pricing model that distinguishes it from the commonly used percentage-based sales model. We have built an all-in-one payment platform that operates on on other platforms.
Suneela Madani's journey began after graduating in finance from the University of Florida and working at Atlanta University.
It was at this time that she came up with the idea of moving away from percentage-based trading. Despite facing skepticism from her bosses and multiple rejections from her bank, she continued to pursue her own vision.
With encouragement from their parents, Suneela Madani and her brother set out to develop a platform based on a monthly subscription model. I pitched my idea in Orlando and got 100 clients. Interestingly, at this stage, they received an attractive offer of Rs 145 million to acquire Stax, which they declined, drawing inspiration and confidence to move forward.
Facing financial constraints after quitting one's job
